At Bramble & Me we look for brands who use child safe, organic materials.

What is child safe fabric? And since when was fabric harmful!?

The only bedding you need for the first year is a fitted sheet, breathable blanket or baby sleep bag, sounds simple right! But as a busy mum who is juggling sleep patterns, the constant worry of; is my baby too hot or cold and jumping at every beep the monitor makes, it's good to know in straight terms what fabric is best to look out for and why.

When buying products look out for OekoTex label certifies that every component of the product, from the fabric to the thread and accessories, has been rigorously tested against a list of up to 350 toxic chemicals.

It's important to check for this as some of the chemicals scientists have found in garments – such as tributyl phosphate, dimethyl fumarate, and disperse dyes – can be acutely toxic or hazardous, causing skin reactions or asthma.

Organic cotton is a type of cotton that is produced without the use of pesticides or synthetic chemicals. Instead, farmers use natural and organic methods to control their fields. This makes organic cotton safer for everyone involved including the environment the farmers and our little ones.
