We’ve just returned from our holiday and successfully managed to fit all our luggage into 1 suitcase (we’re a family of 3) with 2 small cabin cases, still carrying 20 baby outfits, nappies and changes of clothes for the 2 of us. How did we do it!?
Well first of all let’s address nappies… personally I don’t think nappies are that m uh h more expensive abroad, if you shop at a supermarket so we only took around 20 to keep us going. Spread between our hand luggage and suitcase these slipped in gaps quite nicely.
Next the baby clothes, I won’t lie I had fantasies of sending all her clothes to the laundrette half way through and probably didn’t pack enough, but when I saw it was £5 per item I was stunned! Luckily we managed to recycle some clothes that weren’t food stained and that we aired outside in the sun to refresh and this worked a treat, but actually if you pack summer clothes you’ll find the baby clothes really don’t take much room!
Next a blanket, well we had the most versatile muslin blanket going! It was used as a sun protector on the pram, a blanket when it got cooler, a towel when she got out of the pool, a blanket for my legs when it got to hot and I needed some shade, a wind protector on the beach! You name it! I’m not sure we’d have survived without it. When choosing your muslin make sure you go for the extra large ones that open up nice and long and wide. Also a muslin blanket doesn’t have to be an eye sore, there are so many beautiful organic ones out there! Check out our organic pastel baby muslins on our site
